Take a look at Qiana Bridal 'Love & Romance' Collection 2015

Yes, I know this week is all about ceremonies, but  technically speaking a Brides dress is worn at a Brides ceremony so I'm not breaking too many rules...

That's why I wanted to share some  of the images from Qiana Bridal 'Love & Romance' Collection 2015

This new ‘Love & romance’ Collection has been inspired by the heroines from classic romantic novels and consists of 11 semi couture bridal gowns and one decorative organza coat. Each of the designs is different making sure that there is something for everyone offering brides high quality, beautiful and designer bridal gowns.

We think some of them are just dreamy... what about you?

Qiana Bridal has more than two decades of experience from within the bridal industry and leading London Couture houses. Designer Wendy Peddlesden adores the glamorous dresses of the 1950’s and is truly inspired by famous style icons of the time. Wendy designs and cuts all the dresses as she believes that the pattern cutter has their own unique hand writing that enables the design to be beautifully and magically transformed into that very special glamorous gown.

Our 5 Favourite Oscar Inspired Brides Dress Looks

Unless you've been living under a rock you'll know { from Facebook and twitter for sure } that the Oscars took place last night. And while for some it was all about the awards { Congrats Winners! }, for us, it was all about the dresses, the nails and the accessories...

Here Ill share some of my favourite Oscar Inspired Brides Dress Looks....

1. Lupita Nyong'o in Prada... simply stunning.

Yes I know its a pale blue... but remember, it was { a long, long time ago } tradition for an Irish Bride to wear blue on her Brides because it was a symbol of purity during ancient times. What ever the case, this dress is simply stunning and gets out vote as a great Brides dress look!

2. Kate Hudson in Atelier Versace.

For me, Kate can do no wrong. { Ok maybe on occasion she can } but definitely not wearing this dress.}
I love the fit, the draping, the trial and of course the back! Need I say more?

3. Cate Blanchett in Armani Privé

Doesn't this dress just look like an extension of her body? Like it was made just for her?

4. Jenna Dewan Tatum in Reem Acra

This gal has got it all! The looks, the body, the dress and of course Channing Tatum on her arm... are we jealous {not much :) }

5. Jada Pinkette Smith in Atelier Versace

What I love about this dress is its simple but totally dramatic. Perfect  for the bride who wants to make a statement walking down the aisle but doesn't want a veil. Of course, not ideal for those of us who can't go without a bra :)

So which of our five favourite Oscar inspired Brides dress locks did you like the best?

Its a tough choice, but we're going to have to go with Lupita Nyong'o in Prada!!

5 Tips to Keep Your Brides Dress Shopping on Budget!

The Brides dress is probably one of the priciest investments you will make for your Brides and it’s definitely one purchase that put a dent in our Brides budget. While some brides rent their dress or purchase a used dress for their big day, most prefer to go the traditional route to purchase a Brides dress that they can keep for years to come. Finding that perfect Brides dress is an adventure in itself and you’ll need to set aside some time to try on dozens of dresses until you find the right match. It can take weeks, even months, to find The One but your effort will pay off when you find the dress that gives you that ‘wow’ factor you want! You also need to work within your budget, so be prepared to modify your Brides budget as you go.

Here are five ways that my Brides dress added color to me and my husband’s finances:

1. Designer labels.

Purchasing a designer dress versus an off-brand that you could pick up at a local department store will make a big difference in your purchase price. A designer dress that is custom-made for you will cost you even more. Couture gowns are often designed for a specific client and the designer will work with the bride to create something truly one-of-a-kind. If you want to wear a designer label on your Brides day, be prepared to pay a premium for the dress itself and any costs associated with tailoring the dress to fit perfectly. When you are making such a big investment to purchase a designer dress, you’ll definitely want the boutique to handle all of the alterations.

2. Alterations.

Be mindful about the time between the purchase of your dress and your actual Brides day. If your Brides is several months away and you plan on losing (or even gaining) some weight for the Brides, you’ll need to have your dress altered. Plan out when you are going to go in for final measurements and alterations so you don’t have to pay extra for an excessive number of alterations. Those costs can really add up!

3. Fabrics and details.

Natural fabrics are much more costly than most manmade materials so be prepared to pay a premium when you are going with an eco-friendly dress, a 100 percent handmade dress, or anything with exceptional details. If you aren’t prepared to spend a lot of money on the dress, you’ll need to settle for cheaper fabrics and embellishments that may have been made overseas. Set your priorities so you can stay within your Brides budget.

4. Shipping costs.

When you have a Brides dress shipped to your home, it will need to be carefully packed and shipped in a special casing. You’ll need to pay extra to have the dress shipped overnight or second day air, so plan accordingly. The shipping and handling costs of most dresses are usually much higher than the average shipment, so be prepared to include these costs in your Brides budget.

5. Shoes.

Most bridal boutiques will provide a large selection of shoes to go with your dress but you can shop for shoes on your own. Just remember to consider which Brides outfits you’ll be wearing these shoes with, and how much will actually show under your dress! Designer shoes that match your dress perfectly can be another costly purchase but one that you will probably cherish for years, just like your dress. Don’t be afraid to shop around for a great deal on bridal shoes when you have a specific design or style in mind. Remember you don’t have to purchase the shoes the bridal boutique recommends, but can certainly take notes!

Wednesday's Brides Dress Wow!

It is very tempting for me to feature a Jenny Packham Dress every Wednesday...I find it so hard to try pick one from her alluring collection!This elegant Downtownesque number is featured in her Spring/Summer 2013 Collection. It is not available to purchase in The USA unitl January 2013. The intricate beading really needs to be seen up close..the picture does not do it justice!The delicate waist belt assists the chiffon to drape beautifully on the back revealing a chasm. Perfect for a vintage/ 1920's style Brides.
