Bahamas 16 Islands Brides Invitation, Brides No 10: Louise and Steven's Golden Grove Romance

On the little known Island of Acklins, Louise Murfin and Steven Bennett of Huddersfield said their vows while the sun beamed down on a remote Golden Grove Beach. They had dreamed of a tropical Brides on a secluded beach, and lucky for them this dream became a reality upon winning the Bahamas 16 Islands Brides Invitation. When they had heard the great news of their victory, Louise said, "We are looking forward to a magical day in a fairytale place with the people that we love".

Louise, a nurse and Steven, a hydraulics manager, met online back in 2006 after they both joined a dating website. Their first date was to the seaside at Cleethorpes, a year later he proposed on their first anniversary on the beach at Loch Ness in Scotland, so it is very fitting that they had their Brides ceremony on a beach earlier this year! 

Acklins is a tiny island, covering 238 square km and only 6 km across at its widest point. But with the delightful Bight of Acklins lagoon at its heart, a population of only 400 and fabulous beaches full of spectacular rock formations; it’s very big on charm. Peace,seclusion and getting back to nature are prominent attributes of this Island. 

Louise and Steven and their two guests stayed at the pretty little property Ivel’s, on Acklins.
