Real Brides: Claire & Brian's Beautifully Romantic Irish 'I do'.

Where was the Brides?

We were married in Christ the King Church in Lisacul in Co. Roscommon as this is where I’m from.

Our Brides reception was in the Mulranny Park Hotel in Mulranny, Co. Mayo.  We had looked at a few different hotels but when we went to look at Mulranny Hotel we both just got that “feeling” as soon as we walked in the door.  Then the more we looked around the more we loved it. And the setting is just amazing – the hotel itself overlooks Mulranny beach and Croagh Patrick in the background, with breath taking views.

And we’re so glad we went with it – the staff were absolutely fantastic, couldn’t do enough for us.  The meal was superb and the service was second to none.

What was the theme?

We didn’t really have a theme so to speak but as we were getting married in October so we wanted to make sure we had plenty of colours, so we went with pink bridesmaids’ dresses and beautiful colourful bouquets, so I guess you could say there was a bit of a pink theme
running throughout!!

As we are both Manchester United fans the tables at the reception were called after different Manchester United legends, both old and present.

The Bride’s dress?

An Essence of Australia, French Mikado Gown with Soft Organza and a sweetheart neckline.  I did have some alterations done to the dress to include a delicate one shoulder strap with beautiful flower detail and a crystal waist band.

The Bride's Shoes?

A real bargain from Littlewoods.

Jewellery & Accessories?

I borrowed a Swarovski Crystal bracelet from my sister. The bridesmaids wore a necklace with a single diamond on it and matching earrings.

Hair & Makeup?

We got our hair done in Patricia McGrath’s Salon in our local town (Ballaghaderreen).  Both Patricia and Angela were on hand that morning to ensure we were all looking our best.   For me, the brief I gave them was to keep my hair looking very natural and I have to say I was absolutely delighted with it – it was exactly what I wanted and really fitted in with the overall look.

Make-up was done by Michelle Haran from Charlestown in Co. Mayo.  She came to our house that morning which meant we could relax and not have to stress about getting to her house and back again (and gave us more time which is all so precious on the morning of a Brides!!). Michelle did a fantastic job, our make-up looked beautiful and didn’t need to be topped-up at all that day.

The Bridesmaids?

They wore Jasmine B2 Bridesmaids dresses, Style B3080 in Petunia.

Brides Favours?

We decided to make a donation to charity in lieu of favours at our Brides.  Our chosen charity was the Mayo/Roscommon Hospice as so many people we know have been affected by cancer so we both felt it was such a worthy cause.

The Cake?

A friend of Brian kindly offered his sisters services to make our cake.  It had three tiers and was a mixture of fruit, milk chocolate biscuit and white chocolate biscuit.  We had so many compliments about the cake on the day.

Invitations & Stationery?

We got our invitations from Samantha in Paper Republic (http://www.paperrepublic.ie).  Samantha was a pleasure to deal with and we were both really pleased with the final product.

Thank you so much to Claire & Brian for sharing their Brides with us and to the lovely and super talented Photographer David Frain for capturing their special day and sending us this gorgeous Brides.
