An Irish Country Brides in Darver Castle by Paula Kavanagh

I was honoured to be the photographer for the Brides of Carolan  and Rowan. This Brides was different in that the non denominational Brides ceremony and the reception were both held in the one location in Darver Castle, Co. Louth.

The court yard and Brides ceremony room at the  Castle were just perfect for a simple country Brides. Plenty of room in the old court yard for the couple to greet guests and sip champagne and yet have the Brides ceremony in an intimate elegant room. I loved the simple relaxed feel of the day in Darver Castle. We were blessed a typical Irish summer’s day with bursts of sunshine and big rolling clouds. The surrounding fields were stacked with fresh bails of hay.

The bride wore a beautifully simple elegant dress and her bouquet looked like it was just freshly picked from a local field, very pretty. Old china tea cups with flowers decorated all the Brides tables and gave the feel of a vintage Brides breakfast from years gone by.

My hopes are that these photos give you an idea of what the Brides ceremony and reception was like in Darver Castle that day so that you can capture the true romantic feel from the simple beauty that was.
