How to feel the inspiration for your Brides!

Once the hype of the engagement passes it comes to the time where you need to start thinking about your Brides day. Plenty of plans to be made but they all seem to centre around one thing - a theme! So hold back on finding your princess dress just for the minute and focus on this first!

 

Not all Bridess have a theme as some people just aren't into that type of thing but great Bridess can from fantastic eccentric themes or bizarre or fascinating colour schemes. But where do you start? It is overwhelming to look at the massive 'world of Bridess' and think what is right for us? Here's some tips that should set you in the right direction without you feeling a little flustered!!

 

 

 

Things that are important

 

You and your other half should sit down and discuss what are the most important things to you as a couple and to you individually. I always think it is lovely when parts of the brides and grooms personalities are reflected in the Brides décor, entertainment or finer details. It makes the Brides feel more personal. You should also talk about what you both want from the Brides. You may be surprised that a lot of grooms want particular things from their Bridess also - the day is about the two of you after all! Listen to both your opinions so that everything you dream of can hopefully be transformed into reality.

 

 

Your venue

 

 

 

Choosing your venue is probably one of the first things that you will do as a newly engaged couple. The type of venue that you choose is very important in setting the mood for the type of Brides that you want. If there is plenty of outdoor space you are opened up to a realm of garden décor and typical outdoor activites, it even may be possible to have the drinks reception outdoors (weather/season pending of course!). In contrast to a city Brides where the majority of the time, all events will be indoors so it is important to capture a comfortable and relaxed feeling. Talk with the Brides coordinator at the venue itself and enquire what has been done for previous Bridess. Once you are standing in your dream venue you will know what will and what won't work so you will be cutting down your inspirational market.

 

 

The world wide web

 

The internet is a great place to source information for you Brides and its a great place to seek inspiration for what you want for your Brides. You will come across themes and colour schemes that you never thought would exist! Check out some of the best websites for blogposts, photoshoots and inspiration boards such as Green Brides Shoes, The Knot, One Fab Day, Brides High, Style Me Pretty, Fly Away Bride and Mrs2be.ie.

 

 

 

If you aren't already a member of Pinterest it is time to sign up. It is such a fabulous place for inspiring ideas of any kind. You can like particular pages, search whatever you like and 'pin' the pictures that you like the most onto your own board so that you can look at everything you like for your Brides as a whole picture.

 

 

Inspiration Boards

 

Now its time to try your hand at making your own inspiration board! You can either get really creative and start cutting out clippings from Brides magazines and printing photographs from the internet and sticking them onto pieces of card or you can go the technological way! Websites such as The Knot, Style Me Pretty and Dessy let you create your own boards. Have fun and start styling!

 

 

Cakes & Invitations

 

Brides cakes and invitations often carry through the theme of the Brides mostly in colour and also in style. They can also carry through traits of the bride and groom in cake toppers for example. Take a look on some cake websites to see whether you want your cake to be huge and elaborate and a central focus for the day or whether you would like something classic ivory and delicate looking. Brides invitation sites offer great inspiration also through colour schemes and ideas for place settings/escort cards to name but a few. These sites may spark off ideas for a theme you never imagined!!

 

 

 

 

Have some fun seeking inspiration for your Brides and make the most out of your resources namely time and money. A lot of the best ideas can be DIY. You only have one Brides and you want to look back on it as an occasion that was so beautiful and serene that others took inspiration for their own future Bridess from!
