Long gone are the days where the bride walks down the aisle to the traditional 'Here comes the bride Brides march'. Although a few bride's still take this option, the majority are branching out to either a different type of traditional classical music, choosing a modern song or taking an alternate route altogether.
As this is a very important decision there a few things that you need to consider first:
- The song needs to fit in with the theme of the ceremony be it in a church or civil premises. If you hired a string quartet or your songs are very much classically based it is better you keep in with this mood. Although a lot of modern songs can be incorporated into classic form. For example below is Taylor Swifts 'Love Story' w. Talented musicians like this give you endless options.
- Instrumental or voice? This is important as the lyrics in the song you choose could have huge significance for you and your other half.
- Consider whether you want to walk slowly down the aisle or at a faster pace. Don't forget your fathers aren't as young as they used to be don't be dragging them down the aisle!
- Would you like a piece of music that starts off slow and then livens up as you approach the altar?
- A grand entrance? Something a little unique and querky might be more for you!
- Or you could be completely different and sing while you walk down the aisle!
It is extraordinary to see how Bridess have changed so much over the last few decades, the input that couples are putting into their Bridess is just beautiful, so meaningful and definitely memorable.
I have put together a list of a few of the top songs that are being used by bride's as their entrance song that are also my favourites! When choosing the song always remember you are going to be overwhelmed by emotion, all your friends and family will be looking at you adoringly and most importantly your groom at the altar waiting for you beaming or crying! The song holds great significance for the Brides day so be it something popular or something that means a lot to the both of you don't make a hasty decision with this one.
