Stephanie & Raymond's Fall-Inspired Wedding

Photography by 12Masters Photography

There's something so utterly beautiful and comforting about fall. As I excitedly prep for my upcoming Oregon trip, I am definitely in a summer-to-fall-state-of-mind. When I saw Raymond & Stephanie's wedding, I knew it had to be in the blog because we rarely have fall-inspired wedding themes in our neck of the woods! And why not? Just because we technically don't have autumn doesn't mean we can't be inspired by it. We are loving the colors and the emotions of this wedding. In the advertising world, there's a technique called "creative alchemy" and that's when you are bold and twisted enough to combine two things that don't seem to work together so you can form a totally new brilliant idea.  Fall + Native Filipiniana = R+S's Rebellious Wedding. Kudos to the rebellious couple for creating this 1+1=3 rarity!

Congratulations Stephanie and Raymond! And may your marriage be as delightfully romantic as your wedding!

Wedding Agency: "Our Big Family Wedding"

Photo by Marvin Dungao as a guest and very good friend of the couple
"We had the MOST amazing day. The Wedding Agency/RBs perfected every detail and we cannot thank them enough for making our day so special..Cyril and I would be very willing to recommend them highlighting how professional they were from the start until our wedding day..They just exceeded our expectations..

THANKS Rebellious Brides-KAI and MICA
with love, Cyril and Karien:)"

-- Rebellious Bride Karein on The Wedding Agency by The Rebellious Brides

When we first met Karein & Cyril last year, it was very clear that both of their families were vested in their relationship. The family will be very much involved in this wedding--there was no doubt about that.

So when we conceptualized three ideas for them, we threw one that was inspired by the main message or lesson from the movie My Greek Fat Wedding--simply put, we presented a wedding idea that was more of a mindset rather than a wedding theme. Usually when families are highly involved in the wedding it spells out conflict and wedding madness--but what makes this concept rebellious was the fact that we proposed to even highlight what could have been the 'opposition'. "If you can't beat them, join them", we explained.

We suggested some elements on what can make the wedding feel family-oriented and sentimental. Family style big tables, lots of picture frames, woodsy details, storytelling of the couple's 11-year relationship, and sweet doodles/illustrations make for an interactive, warm and inviting mood that creates even more bonding moments together. The rule of thumb was to make everyone feel part of the family.

"I knew that you [RB/Wedding Agency] must somehow have had a hand in Ate Karein & Cy's wedding. I was right!" -- one of the couple's friends/ Rebellious Bunch Photographer Marvin Dungao of 12 Masters Photography shared with us.

While conceptualizing wedding ideas is one of the main thrusts of our Wedding Agency service, at the end of the day we'd like to think that more importantly we help our couples unleash their own individual creativity. And Karein & Cyril is the best example of that. While Karein religiously followed the wedding elements that we proposed, she also further improved it to make it her own. This is collaboration at its best and we immensely enjoyed seeing the ideas brought to life to new heights!

The couple took to heart our "frame-within-a-frame" Modern Family inspired prenup idea and created a cool prenup collage during their reception wherein they literally DIY-framed some of the photos! How cool is that?

Karein initially wanted fresh flowers for her bouquet so when we thought of ideas for it, we suggested a "sunny & sentimental" vibe for her bouquet. When she changed her mind and realized she wanted to work with Vatel/{ETC} to create a non-floral bouquet for her, this is how they dimensionalized the original idea--and we LOVE IT!

Karein & Cyril's color motif (yellow, blue, gray) seemed such a challenging mix for stylish entourage gowns. So we suggested for them to cleverly mix yellow & gray together. And we love how it turned out especially for the flower girls! :)

At the heart of the couple's brief was the fact that they wanted a whimsical, romantic, and detail-oriented wedding. Their main pet peeve was having lull moments and dead air. So we suggested for them to have a lot of interactive elements that were in keeping with their theme! And again--loving how they seemed to have followed our suggestions to the hilt! :)

Over the course of Karein & Cyril's wedding preps--and even right after we presented their walkthrough, they were advised that the venue underwent some renovations. From the traditional garden vibe that Fernwood once had, they decided to update their look with some "western-ish" details. Instead of throwing a bridezilla hissy fit, our rebellious bride Karein kept her cool and decided to work this new development to her advantage.  This is how she thought of  adding the "train journey" as an extra element in the reception to make everything more cohesive with the renovation--and we are so proud of her for really evolving into having  a creative, rebellious bride spirit :)

Rebellious Bride Karein shares: "Since we marked the date for our wedding day, I started looking for brilliant ideas that will suffice my ideal wedding.  While browsing the net I stumbled into the "Rebellious Brides". The RBs just caught my attention and I never doubted reaching out to them.

In a matter of minutes, we set an appointment and had our first meeting. During our briefing, it seemed as though we were close already and it felt great. They just asked about our lives, how and what we wanted for our wedding. And amazingly, the next meeting everything was plotted in a PowerPoint presentation as if we've known each other for years. And as the wedding neared, I could talk to them anytime whenever I had a question/consultation They showed the 'Rebellious side of us' that we've just discovered from them."

Congratulations Karein & Cyril! We are so very happy and proud of you guys for being able to create such a crazy wedding haha! We heard it was amazing and photographer Marvin Dungao couldn't help gush about it.

PS. Don't you guys just LUUURVE Karein's anti-white Drezzee bridal gown? So proud of our rebellious bride protege! Haha :)
