To hire or not to hire a Brides videographer!

A videographer for your Brides day..........yes or no?!

 

Absolutely yes in my opinion! With budget restraints some couples do tend to say that if they have a photographer there is no need for a videographer. I beg to differ. So many couples that I have spoken with in the past say that they really regret not having a videographer on their Brides day. Cut the corners elsewhere if money is an issue and consider a videographer for a few reasons I am about to bring to the table.

 

 

Photographs capture moments, videos tell a story. There is something so lovely about being able to watch you Brides day back exactly how it was and transport yourself back into that time where you were nervous and excited all in the one. The video will evoke those same feelings and let you relive the atmosphere that was created on your special day. There is something so magical about videos ability to do that. Whether you watch it as a couple, with friends or show it to your future children, nothing tells the story of your Brides day more than a video.

 

Imagine being able to conjure up your Brides ceremony or Brides speeches at any given moment! Photographs are fabulous and capture beautiful still instances but videos record the laughing, the crying, the sounds, cheering and the words of love that are uttered during your vows.

 

 

The benefits of hiring a professional to do this ensure that every aspect of your day is catered for as well as having the skills for sound checking, balance and lighting. The video itself when complete can have special features, soundtracks and title headings. There are many options available.
 

 

So when you are researching your photographer don't neglect to have a look for videographers too. These suppliers also need to be booked plenty of time in advance and really are worth spending that extra penny! And don't forget you will have that first dance to look back on in all its glory be it perfect or with a few funny mistakes -  you can't really put a price on that!

Brides Videography or Photography – Which is the best?

Comparing Brides videography to Brides photography is realistically unrealistic. Both mediums are trying to tell a story and usually succeed, but one uses motion and sound while the other depends on the skill of the photographer. There are arguments for both as well as those who believe they have to have both at their Brides in order to have their special day fully documented.

However, as the old saying goes too many cooks can ruin the stew. So, in the same way too many photographers and videographers can ruin the Brides. When planning your nuptials having photographic memories will be an important step. Deciding whether you want a photographer or videographer or both will require some serious consideration. Photographs can be placed in an album to present a timeline of the event while creating lasting visual memories while a video of the day can also capture all the sounds of the day.

Many people take the refuge of corporate videoproduction companies; especially the elite customers.

Pictures of the speeches given during the reception may spark memories of what was said but a video will provide the words as well as the tone in which they were said. Individual table photos are a nice reminder of what guests were there and with whom they were seated, but a video can provide individual messages from each of the attendees.

The Brides ceremony is a sacred event and photographers sometimes, determined to get the best shot possible, will interfere with the minister and other members of the Brides party. Videographers are seldom any better as they try to muscle their way into the best possible position. You will need to set the ground rules for either one before the ceremony, and talk to the person officiating, to ensure the ceremony goes off without any problems.

For most couples a Brides is a once in a lifetime event and having the day recorded for prosperity will preserve the countless memories. Most couples go through the day like a whirlwind and memories can be sketchy at best. You also need to consider that the uncle or cousin with a video camera may not capture the best videos or have the aggression needed to get the best possible video of the day. 

Today, there are many companies engaged in videomarketing and production of niche videos. These companies will make your Brides an everlasting memory.

If you choose to have both a photographer and a videographer, you need to caution them both ahead of time that they need to work together. You are going to pay the bills, usually not inexpensive, and you want the best for your money. Professionals will work together to stay out of each other’s shots so you don’t have them appear in all of your Brides pictures.

The bottom line is when choosing between still photography and video look into the future. Determine if you will want to peruse an album of the day’s memories or pop a disk into the player and be able to relive the entire day. Many couples make the mistake of overkill for their Brides with two or three of each, as though they are putting together a professional production. Sure, they are certain to get every image they want, but usually at the expense of them tripping over each other while they block your guests from seeing what is going on.

Bahamas 16 Islands Brides Invitation, Brides No. 2: Mary & James' Enchanted Brides Under the Sea!

Mary Gleeson and James Potter of Whitfield, Dover, toyed with the idea of a Brides ceremony on the ocean floor. Pretty unconventional but probably not surprising for a diving instructor! This idea materialised when the adventurous couple won the 16 islands Brides invitation. Upon being told of their dream Brides arrangements, James said ““Having got engaged in the most unromantic of places (our lounge) whilst suffering from thrombosis in 2006, I couldn't be more thrilled to finally have the opportunity to marry Mary - not only in The Bahamas but in our favourite place - underwater!”

Little did they realise that they would have an “Enchanted Encounter”  while saying “I do”. Watch the video below to see this beautiful and unique ceremony, featuring some Atlantic Bottle Nosed Dolphins in attendance- the definition of destination Brides with a difference!

Mary, James and their two guests stayed at the Grand Lucayan, Grand Bahama Island, where they also celebrated their underwater nuptial with some colourful land based celebrations!

The Grand Bahama Island is the fifth largest island in the Bahamas and is only 56 miles from Florida. It is surrounded by shallow coral reefs which inahbits a vast variety of marine life making it ideal for diving and snorkelling. It is no wonder that the island was chosen as the back drop to the Bond film "Never Say Never Again"!

Congratulations Mary and James!Tomorrow we will continue our journey round the Islands of the Bahamas where Joanna Wicenciak and Peter Dennis of Scunthorpe will say "I do" on the "Top of the World".
