Through the Eyes of a Bridesmaid - Part 4 - Dancing the Night Away!

Once the spectacular first dance was over (many congrats to the newlyweds in remembering all their steps!) we got ready for ‘Springbreak’ one of the biggest Brides bands around. This fantastic band are 80’s themed and come dressed up to fit the image. They really get the crowd going and the dancefloor was packed to the brim from the young ones to the older ones. It seemed like everyone knew the tunes! Luckily the photographer and videographer were still there for the beginning of this part so they got a good few images.

 

As time went on, the bride decided to throw the bouquet for the single ladies of the evening. Everyone queued up and waited in anticipation in hope they would ‘be next’. The hilarity in all this was when the bridesmaid who caught the bouquet made such a leap for it that she jumped, slipped and fell on the ground. Let’s hope some luck comes of such an embarrassing incident!!


 Some important dances were to follow, naturally the father of the bride and the bride (one of those tear jerkers), all the girls, and the groom did some of his duties and danced with the beautiful bridesmaids. One of the best moments of the night was when the band brought the bride onto the stage infront of the wind machine and gave her his shades. It was a hilarious moment where people were literally turning around to one another in bewilderment asking why the bride was on the stage!! This made great photographs!

What also made some fantastic shots was Paul Kelly's makeshift photo booth. He brought along countless amazing props and guests sat in the chairs or stood dressed up and holding messages, some of which there are bubbles flying in the sky as he ran around us blowing bubbles. Truly enjoyable for all guests and the photographs are great keepsakes!

The night followed the usual pattern, guests were relaxed, happy, merry and literally dancing the night away. The evening food was served buffet style followed by pieces of cake (my favourite part) with delicious fillings of chocolate biscuit, red velvet and lemon. The men retreated to the smoking area for the typical ‘Brides cigar because we are MEN!’. Somehow myself and the bride were so intrigued by this male ritual we followed to check it out, soon to leave them behind in a cloud of smoke!

 

The night ended in the usual fashion……..in the residents bar. I have to admit, everyone was merry but no one spoilt the atmosphere by a little too much to drink, this is always a good thing!

Five fantastic bands to get your guests dancing!

Music is an integral part of Bridess. It provides guests with an ambiance and overall feeling for the Brides. Couples always want to insure that their guests are having a great time, an event that they will always remember therefore choosing your band should be a central focus. After all, the Brides band says a lot about the couples themselves! Here are five top bands that are guaranteed to have everyone dancing all night long.

 

 

Smash Hits are ‘like so totally the ultimate 90’s band’. They are continually selling out shows in top venues nationwide as well as appearing as support acts and at some of the biggest festivals in Ireland. The band is made up of six talented musicians who are guaranteed to get your guests out on that dance floor all night entertaining you with their classic 90’s gear and bouncing chart hits! You can find almost anything on their playlist from Whigfield to The Vengaboys. They are definitely the band to get the party started!

The Bentley Boys are one of Ireland’s premier Brides bands and have won several awards for their great talents. They pride themselves on having such great musicians that each package for every Brides is different where the choice of music available varies from current top 40, hits of the 80’s, funk, jazz and old school rock. They offer extras to their clients with the band available to play at the drinks reception and also a DJ service when the band has finished their set. As a band that has been nominated for several Brides related awards this year they are a big one to consider!

 

 

After Dark, the award winning band play every Monday night in Kilkenny and every Sunday in Carlow. Their members have fantastic vocal ability, energy and give an exciting performance no matter what occasion. Their music varies from classics to swinging hits to soulful sounds. They are seen as a band that provide some freshness to a congested market where performances are spectacular and reviews outstanding.

 

Springbreak, the supreme Brides band for 80’s music might be one of the hardest bands to book for your big day so if you like what you see on their website I’d recommend booking them at the same time as you do your venue! The six members bang out tunes from ‘Time of My Life’ to ‘Manic Monday’ and also offer DJ service. Dressed in proper 80’s clothes and sometimes sailor suits I can safely say after seeing them myself that they are top notch entertainment, worth that little bit extra from your budget and an overall enjoyable experience!

RadioShack were founded in 2008 from a group of six individuals who have worked with artists such as Elton John, Snow Patrol and Sharon Corr. They also had the privilege of performing at Cecelia Ahearn’s Brides where they were joined on stage by Ronan Keating. The band play nearly anything from classic to contemporary, a full playlist is available on their website. The testimonials about the band say it all, highlighting their excellence, professionalism and quality of entertainment.
