RB Goes Gatsby Part 3 of 3

Photography by Carlo Cecilio of ImagineNation
Grooming & Styling by Madge Lejano
"You're worth the whole damn bunch of them."
-- Nick Carraway says to Gatsby.

Determined, passionate, charismatic, lived life to the fullest, and a fine taste in shirts. Qualities of the Great Gatsby. Was there any other choice for this role?

CREDITS: Jacket Suit, Inner shirt, Vest, Pants - Jun Escario / Bow Tie - Maco Costudio / Shoes - Louis Vuitton

It's no secret that Jason Magbanua is not only the best wedding filmmaker out there but also the best dressed. So credit here is due to the model's own wardrobe collection! (Jacket: John Vervatos / Inner shirt: Pink Checkered H&M / Pink Bowtie: Maco Costudio / Pants: Nudie / Shoes: Colehaan, Look 4: Jacket: Paul Smith / Yellow inner shirt: Calvin Klein / Beige Vest: Forever 21 / Hat: Sm department store / Pants: Uniqlo / Belt: Goyard / Shoes: Paul Smith / Jacket Suit & Pants - Paul Smith / Blue Inner Shirt - Calvin Klein / White Vest: Forever21 /Tie: "346" Brooks Brothers)

This final feature on our RB goes Gatsby special coincides with the grand reveal of Jason's latest offering. And we wanted to give it its own highlight as well:

Jason writes:

"Years ago, when I was starting out, I asked a lot of questions. Why can't wedding films be more moving, entertaining, arresting and involving? We pursued those questions - refining technique, defining approach and telling better stories... Much credit of course goes to the designers – EVERYWHERE WE SHOOT for putting this together. And putting up with me. The main box is a double gatefold. The inside left contains the disc format of the final video. The center slots contain additional disc copies. The inside right holds our premium USB key containing the data versions. All embedded within our mantra, our code of filmmaking. In one of the folds are representations of who I am and what I do – a curated gallery of material objects. They don’t define me as a person. They are merely products of my personality.Everything is contained in a sleeve....Show it off. Be proud. Many aspire. Very few acquire." -- www.jasonmagbanua.com/blog/

The End.

Acknowledgments:

So much love, talent, hard work, sacrifice, and generosity went into the entire Gatsby shoot. It all started with a simple email from Carlo Cecilio of ImagineNation that had a simple request: to collaborate on features for the blog.

L-R: Carlo Cecilio, Teddy Manuel, Ryan Madamba, Amanda Tirol, Madge Lejano, RB Kai & Cy / Another pic of Madge with Amanda and Ryan Madamba
Each and every person who contributed--from Amanda flying all the way from Boracay, to Mich de Guzman squeezing in the time to do illustrations in between layouts for her day job, to Teddy Manuel and Koni Esteban for crafting special pieces for the shoot, to Madge for incredibly styling, pulling out, and creating each and every look, to Ryan Madamba, Clayton, Jun Escario, Joey Samson, Maco Costudio for allowing us to shoot their masterpieces, to Jason taking out of his crazy schedule to do some poses (and allowing us to shoot in his fine office at that) --every person who was part of this honestly, didn't have to go through all the trouble. Yet everybody did. It makes us want to move forward and continue building this amazing community.

Candidly Pretty's DIY Workshop at the Trade School Manila

We'd like to personally invite you all to attend Koni Esteban of Candidly Pretty's "bartered" class on DIY making! And you gotta hurry because the class is almost full!!!

The class is "bartered" because this class is the brilliant idea of Trade School Manila wherein knowledge can be passed on to students without necessarily paying for a fee--instead, you can barter with what the speaker/teacher wants to get! How cool is that? For example, Koni will be sharing her knowledge on DIY crafting and she'd like to barter the following items below! And as you can see, there's only 4 seats left!!!

We absolutely LOVE, LOVE the idea of barter for knowledge--heck, we believe in a barter society w/o money! And RB Mica and I are also interested to share some of our own knowledge too--on weddings, on makeup, on Pinoy green living, and so much more! CLICK HERE to sign-up for Koni's DIY class!

Speaking of Koni, check out her handcrafted wooden spoon idea below! :)

As an organic advocate/neophyte eco warrior, I truly appreciate that Koni Esteban of Candidly Pretty made wooden utensil options for weddings. There's A LOT of waste that goes on in each and every wedding. So injecting sustainable and eco-friendly ideas show that we actually care for Mother Earth in our own little ways.

Why are wooden utensils better? First of all, even if guests opt to leave it for the trash it can be segregated after the reception under the pile of recyclables. Second of all, it will lessen the number of dinnerware that has to be washed which consumes a lot of water and toxic dish washing liquid products. And third of all? Why, it's a simple but wonderful detail to have of course! :)

Candidly Pretty's Fabric Letters

While Fabric Letters are easily bought in some specialty boutiques, not only are they expensive but they are also small. Enter Candidly Pretty's handmade letters--each are a labor of love and are sized just right. Koni makes sure that each letter is picture perfect for your prenup or wedding photos/videos, and even couple's booths because they are actually visible! Haha.

Candidly Pretty's Fabric Bouquet

Love, love, LOVE Koni Esteban's fabric bouquet for Boracay Bride Cat! So chic, so tasteful, and so precious indeed! Am gonna have to contact Koni soon! I want some fabric bouquets for our Rebellious Home and for our upcoming party! :)

Here's another photo:

Koni shares: "Crafting these dainties was not a stroll in the park. It took me an entire week to design, manually die cut and sew the separate pieces together. All my exhaustion melted away when I saw Cat's smile =) Knowing that she appreciated what I created especially for her, made my excited heart skip a beat."

Candidly Pretty's Dessert Table & Party Favors

Freelance crafter Koni Esteban of Candidly Pretty and her friends were recently in-charge of visualizing and implementing the dessert table and party favors for an intimate party. Here's how their team made it all happen:

www.candidlypretty.blogspot.com

Koni: I was thrilled to be in charge of the dessert table! I decorated it with fabric-covered letters and hand-stitched mini buntings that were intricately made with LOVE =)

Koni: Leah entrusted me to work on the party favors. With the theme in mind, I came up with these pretty pastel-colored hankies.

Koni: My craft zizters and I collaborated on this scrumptious project. Geli baked red velvet bars with cream cheese frosting and Ella made handwritten tags. They had been so enthusiastic with working with me on this project! Together we came up with this. =) Isn’t it so delectable-looking! It really is a sweet treat! Merci beaucoup gurlz!!!

Awesome work, ladies!
