Chad & Hi-C's Jologs Pa-Soshal 90s Wedding--In Other Words, Throwback Wedding!

"So it was made. That we will wear sophisticated (more of like pa-soshal) clothes but we’ll not lose our “normal” selves. Thus, we had come up with a jologs with a bit of pa-soshal wedding. And what would be more jologs than the 90’s era? So, give way for a 90’s themed wedding."

Rebellious Bride Hi-C on their "Jologs Pa-Soshal 90s Wedding"

There's nothing quite like a couple who's bold enough to make fun of themselves...and their wedding. The bride already explains their wedding all too well so let's start!

RB Hi-C Shares: My husband and I are not fond of being the center of attention unless we are making fun of ourselves or we are performing a song/dance number for our family and friends. We hardly even throw a big birthday celebration. We are a fun loving couple. Everything too serious and too conventional bores us and everything too pretentious is not good to our eyes. We want pretenses but we want it the comical way. Thus, we may opt to look formally sophisticated only if really necessary --- and we believed that it was really necessary for our wedding day.

"To project the 90’s/Jologs theme, our names were matched in F.L.A.M.E.S. (childhood game) printed on our invite and on our cake topper."

"The song I sang as a part of my vow was “Sana’y Wala nang Wakas” by Sharon Cuneta."

"For the reception, the table names were named after the famous love teams in the 90’s like Judy Ann Santos & Wowie de Guzman. Some of the dishes served by K by Cunanan Catering were streetfoods like isaw, tokneneng and taho. We also had a Filipino pasta station with tuyo and tinapa flakes and they also served crackling pork bits."

"Instead of the usual bouquet and garter toss, we asked the gents to play “Dampa” (rubber band game) and the ladies to blow the plastic balloon."

"To complete the fun part, instead of the traditional first dance of the couple, we opted to do a 90’s flash mob for our guests. My husband started dancing alone to the tune of “Pizzicato Five” (made famous by Streetboys) while our guests were having their dinner. I pretended that I was not happy with what he was doing because he left me alone eating. So, I started to pull him back to our seats. The guests stopped eating because they thought we were actually quarreling on our wedding day! Oh it was the best! Then with “Stars by Simply Red” playing on the background, we started dancing together. Then came another 2, and another until we reached to 20 people dancing to the beat of the 90’s."

"No wedding is perfect so was ours. But we love how it was full of love, full of laugh."

Congratulations to the happy couple and may your marriage be as unpretentious and fun as your wedding! As a special treat, we requested for the raw video of their flash mob, and here it is! Definitely a #throwback moment!

The Coachella Chic Wedding by Cherryblocks

"They made a statue of us
And it put it on a mountaintop
Now tourists come and stare at us
Blow bubbles with their gum
Take photographs have fun, have fun" -- US, Regina Spektor
Easily one of our most favorite December weddings of all time, regular readers would already know that we've blogged about JP & Loni's Coachella Chic Wedding like a thousand times by now. As the saying goes: "Love your own" haha!

When JP & Loni told us that they chose Cherryblocks as their photographer, we immediately nodded with excitement and approval. "This is definitely a Cherryblocks kind of wedding----right up Chuck's alley!", Mica & I told JP & Loni...in total agreement of their choice. And this time, we put the spotlight on the official wedding photos by Rebellious Bunch Cherryblocks aka Chuck Ronquillo. Enjoy :)

The Wedding Agency - Coachella Chic Wedding

Easily one of the funnest and most wonderful wedding videos we've seen in recent months, we definitely applaud John Marvi de Guzman (Cinemaworks) for really capturing the "Circus of Love" that is JP and Loni!

Loni's entry for the Wedding Agency Bonanza:

"Why do we need the Wedding Agency? Because every girl needs a fairy godmother to make her dreams come true. But my kind of fairy godmothers are sophisticated, confident rock stars who enjoy living their lives out of the box rather than in it -- enter Rebellious Brides. Why do we need the help of the Wedding Agency? Because JP and I are bursting with outrageous ideas and we need someone to keep us in check and assure us that we're not going cuckoo! :-P Cheers to originality and nonconformity ... and to happily ever after! :-) XOXO!"

Every Wedding Agency client is unique and have varying reasons for seeking our help. While some would go to us so they could get ideas from scratch, there are also some who have so many ideas that they need help keeping their focus. When JP & Loni asked for our help in streamlining their wedding ideas, Loni had a slew of picture folders of the things she wanted. And boy there were a lot! Haha! A lot of brides (myself included) definitely have a lot of pegs during their wedding preps--that's what makes the planning part fun after all! But how to actually tie everything together and how to visualize your own wedding can be a little difficult.

The theme itself actually already came from JP & Loni. And the minute they said "Coachella Chic", we knew this couple was going to be open to a lot of cool things. But how cool and how far would they be willing to go? That was our question. When we presented the Ferris Wheel idea, we didn't know how they would react. And when they seemed to really gravitate towards it, we were ecstatic.

Here are some of the boards we created for JP & Loni's Walkthrough:

A beautiful couple inside and out, JP & Loni are such joys to work with! Mica and I are truly honored to have worked with you guys :)
