The Ultimate Run for Love

My, how time flies by so fast. Just last year, we cited Coach Rio's proposal video as a trend to watch out for in 2012 (Back track HERE). And here we are today, ogling his and Nicole's heart-stopping Mayad trailer & wedding video.

We don't personally know Coach Rio and Nicole (my mom does though--which is soooo weird!). But Coach being one of the country's 'pambansang' icons when it comes to all things running/marathons, we feel happy for him & his equally athletic 'n awesome wife as if we were one of the bystanders rooting for the lovers to finally finish the race.

Separately, Mayad (with the direction of Raphael Jamil Pranga) culminated the couple's running journey  through a thematic wedding video. What's so rebellious about their wedding besides Coach Rio's usual rebellious hair? Well, watch out how the couple exits the church and the bride's sizzling preps! We are also loving Nicole's rogue lips! Another sign that our fearless 2013 forecast is on the right track :)

"Pwede bang ang theme nalang namin 'Favorites' kase puro favorites namin yung details ng wedding?" (Can our theme just be called 'Favorites' since the wedding details are about our favorites?).

This was how Rebellious Bride Ji explained to us her wedding a few months back.

I've personally witnessed Ji's wedding preps for more than year. How she was so addicted to going to several bridal expos, how she went from one food tasting to the next, and how she selected each and every member of her all-star wedding team. More importantly, I've witnessed how she fought for what she and Jessen wanted for their wedding.

I'd say if there really IS a need to encapsulate Ji & Jessen's wedding, then we might as well call it the "Love & Favorites" wedding. Love because they've been together for 10 years, and from the invites, to the table numbers (tables were highly personalized, strategically named and grouped into each year in the couple's love timeline and the people that made each year special), to their old pictures, it was so evident that this was a love that lasted years and years of happiness, fun, and love overcoming all obstacles!

Favorites, because well, as Ji already said, everything about their details were simply their favorite things! How very simplistic yet AUTHENTIC & GENUINE can you get? And that's really what a wedding should be. A reflection of who you truly are as a couple....and their video captured just that. How they are such a makulit couple, how Ji is such a "showbiz dancing beauty" (the bride after all was a UP Pep Squad and she does work in media!), and how their love is like being swept off of your feet. Enjoy the wedding video :)
