7 Elements to Consider in Planning Your Summer Brides

Summer Bridess are romantic in every way. Nature gives you a myriad of bright colours as gorgeous backgrounds. The radiant sun provides the perfect natural lighting for your photos. Destination Bridess particularly beach Bridess look extra spectacular during summer. It just spells beauty at every turn. A summer Brides may be picturesque but it also takes extra planning. Here are seven elements you need to prepare for:

Rays of the sun. As much as it gives ideal lighting to your photos, it can also make your guests look sweaty, reddish, and haggard. Make sure that your ceremony will take place in a shaded area. If not, you can provide a tent or cute umbrellas for your guests. You can also hold your Brides late in the afternoon toward sunset for a cooler temperature. The setting sun will also make a breathtaking background for your summer Brides.

Scorching heat. Summer heat can be draining. Make sure that you have refreshments readily available for your guests like cold bottled water or fresh juices. When you scout for catering services, ask them if they can cover this for you. If not, buy them ahead of time. You can even put stickers with your initials on the refreshment bottles! Provide paper fans on every seat for each of your guests. It would be best to be in a shaded area with lots of trees. Tents with big air conditioning units will be comfortable as well.
Unpredictable weather. The weather can either be your best friend or worst enemy. Its unpredictability is what makes it difficult to gauge. There is no guarantee that this morning’s forecast will be the same in the afternoon. You need to have a back-up plan if in case Mother Nature decides to pour some rain on your Brides. Choose a venue that has a covered area where you can easily move. Those pretty umbrellas should also be accessible at any given time.

Wild winds. Gusty winds can make your decors fly. It can also ruin your hair and Brides gown. Strong winds can keep making your guests uncomfortable as they prevent their dress from getting blown away. No outdoor summer Brides is windproof but you can make sure that you have elements that can block off the wind such as huge tents and pillars. You need to tell your event stylist that you need the decors to be as secure as possible.
Uninvited insects. Since most summer Bridess are done outdoors, you will have uninvited guests that fly around during the ceremony. These insects can be pretty annoying, too! If it is still within your budget, provide hypoallergenic insect-repellent lotions for your guests. Stay away from gardens that are not maintained properly. You wouldn’t want different creatures popping out of nowhere during your Brides. Do not expose your food unless it’s time to eat already. Coordinate well with your florist to ensure that you don’t pick flowers that entice bees and other freeloader insects.
Guest schedule. Summer is synonymous with vacation time. You need to send your “save the date” notifications early on so that your guests can block off your Brides date before they go on vacation. Be strategic in scheduling the date of your Brides. You also need to coordinate with your suppliers early as some of them go on short vacations, too.

Comfort food.
By that we mean refreshing comfort food. Guests will appreciate food that will cool them down. Take advantage of the fruits that are abundant during the summer and make it a significant part of your buffet table. Make as many fruits available as you can in your salad bar and dessert area. Guests will love it because it’s both healthy and refreshing at the same time. Choose a reliable caterer who can serve these fresh fruits in addition to your delectable courses. If your budget permits, fresh fruit juices and shakes would be superb.

The best way to go about a summer Brides is thorough preparation. These elements are beyond your control but you can manage around it. You need not worry about these things as long as you have the necessary things prepared for your guests. All you need to do is enjoy the moment, soak in the beauty of your summer Brides, and let nature take its course.

Catering to Your Guests; Alcohol and Your Brides

Like brides and grooms, Bridess and alcohol go hand-in-hand, and for any soon to be newlywed couple the decision to serve alcohol will be obvious, but what may not be obvious is how much it will cost and who will pay for it. Fortunately for those among us who want to make alcohol available at our Bridess we have three great, but very different options to consider: open bar, limited bar and cash bar. This article will give a brief overview of these three bar styles, and hopefully help you decide which is right for you!

The first and most expensive way to serve alcohol at a Brides is in an open bar format.  Open bar Bridess allow guests to consume as much alcohol as they’d like, and pass the tab on to the bride and groom. This type of Brides offers maximum benefit to the Brides guests, but for those of us on a budget, the thought of guests drinking to their hearts content on our tab, is enough to make our head spin.

Here are a few cost affecting things to keep in mind when considering whether or not to offer an open bar at your Brides.

The number of guests in attendance at your Brides will be the biggest cost factor for an open bar so be sure to mail your invitations far enough in advanced to get the most accurate attendance numbers.
Take into consideration that some of your guests may not RSVP but will still attend the Brides as this will increase the potential expense.
Common knowledge and experience tells us that people typically drink less in the mornings and afternoon than they do during the evening, so planning your open bar Brides earlier in the day will substantially reduce your costs.
The duration of the open bar will also have an effect on final cost. In order to reduce cost limited the length of the open bar, this will allow for a few free drinks, while hopefully limiting overindulgence.

A couple who absolutely must have an open bar at their Brides can save money by offering a limited open bar. A limited bar means that you limit the diversity of the drinks offered and/or the types of alcohol. Offering a few mixed drinks, just wine or just beer can help to significantly reduce the costs associated with an open bar Brides, while still allowing your guests to enjoy a few drinks on you.

The third type of Brides is a “cash bar.” Like an open bar, a cash bar allows guests to consume as much alcohol as they would like, but differs in its requirement that they pay for it themselves. This is a great alternative to an open bar if you want to make alcohol available to your guests but are not interested in incurring the extra costs associated with it.

Here are two things to consider if you choose to offer a cash bar.
Mention “cash bar” on the invitation so guests come prepared to spend a few bucks on drinks. Nothing worse than showing up to a cash bar Brides ill-prepared!
Reduce your guests out-of-pocket cost by offering a couple bottles of wine per table. This will give your guests something to drink on you, before they have to buy their own.

Ultimately the decision to have an open bar, limited open bar or cash bar Brides is up to you. The pros and cons of each vary greatly and may not be the same for every Brides. If you have two thousand dollars extra to spend on your Brides an open bar is a great use for that money. However, if money is tight, offering a cash bar is the best way to provide your guests with the ability to drink while reducing your overall cost.

Needless to say, your guests probably will not remember whether you have an open bar, a limited bar or a cash bar so feel free to do what is best for you and your budget!
